Josh’s Panther. By: Fay Simpson. Chivers Children’s audio books. 1988 (1hr 25mins)

As Josh sits daydreaming on a log in the middle of a stream, he is interrupted by an earnest young woman who says she is on the trail of the giant wild cat. Privately Josh thinks the young woman is mad but, when she has gone, he makes a large clay paw-print for a joke. He’s very pleased with his handiwork, little imagining that it will land him in a pickle. When he arrives home, Josh’s parents believe his model really is the print of the mysterious wild cat, and soon the whole village is buzzing with stories as Josh tries to wriggle out of his predicament….
