Romans on the Range - High Ham

This week, Tony and the Team are given an opportunity to dig at an army firing range in High Ham, Somerset, as they investigate a set of Roman mosaics first discovered 150 years ago.

Initial searches suggest the remains of Roman villas could be located on the site, and the Team begin to build up a picture of the highs and lows of life in the society of the time.

Then there was the weather.....
Filmed at the end of March last year it was one of the coldest and wettest shoots and ranks amongst such memorables as Islay, Bodmin Moor and Risehill as being very high up the abject misery list!
It was well worth it though....
